National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) will now allow D.El.Ed courses by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or and any other NCTE recognized institution for teacher appointment purposes.
The same was announced today [20/05/2020] by Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and he tweeted the official order in this regard.

He tweeted, “Patna High Court has approved D.El.Ed courses by NIOS and any other NCTE recognized institute, keeping in view the employment purpose. NCTE has accepted the high court’s order.”
On May 14, Pokhriyal announced that the government will respect the Patna High Court order on the NIOS D.EL.Ed teachers.
